Tonkin Liu Architects won the competition to re-design the Ancient Market place in Kingston-upon-Thames. New market stalls were designed to accommodate traders with bespoke, cross-laminated solid timber panels used for the construction of the market stalls. The public space in the Ancient Market was also re-designed to allow for additional pop-up market stalls and an improved pedestrianized meeting and shopping experience. Integrated access has also been provided for cyclists and cycle parking.
