What we believe in
Rodrigues Associates is a young design-led structural engineering consultancy established in 2003 but founded on over thirty years’ experience. The practice was founded by Mervyn Rodrigues on the belief that the challenge and ultimate success of structural design is achieved through assimilation of the architecture with structural design and based on a close working relationship with the Architect and design team.
R.A. believes that understanding the nature and context of a building and location enables the most appropriate, intelligently thought through and creative design solutions. The efficient use of materials and an understanding of their change over time are fundamental considerations in all our work and mean that environmental impacts can be minimised whilst achieving cost-effectiveness. The aim of the practice is to achieve elegant, sustainable and economical design solutions which realize the aspirations of both the Client and the Architect.
Rodrigues Associates is involved in a rich variety of projects ranging from educational, residential and commercial buildings, London transport projects to experimental and cultural structures using reinforced concrete, steel and timber and green oak as the principal structural materials. Our work in the residential sector includes bespoke staircase design, loft conversions, basement expansions, house extensions and new build houses.
